Very thank you for finishing carefully ! This is a very beautiful work. If there is sufficient time for you, I will want you to decensor the other works by Menyoujan. I express thanks repeatedly.
@bess- More from Menyoujan is on my to-do-list. @Drksrpnt- Link is not working for me, though I assume you are either refering to cl-orz 18 and/or 19. The only version of cl-orz 18 I've seen are fairly low resolution (623X900), so I'm hoping a better version arises and as for cl-orz 19 I haven't seen it available yet.
I take you didn't like the original english version then which had a few pages with very high contrast. I adjust the mostly vibrancy and sometimes the saturation to my preference which I realize is a highly subjective thing. I also realize some people may have adjustments on their monitor to raise the saturation in general.
In any case, it's really easy to lower the saturation on the images with image viewing programs to change it your personal preference based on your monitor and eyes. I use infranview, which is a free program and with that it even has a batch conversion option so you can change all the images at once.
Ah, of course, it's "lolicon", so it's been killed. Yeah, it's cl-orz 19, and it has 1399x2000 images. Fairly certain that's good enough for your skills.
Since I couldn't upload it to mediafire because my internet is shit, I went ahead and found a torrent for it.
Yes, sorry I didn't say it right. It's not a problem of contrast here (unlike latest nisemidi) it's about a strong reddish tint. English version had high contrast but colours seemed a bit more neutral (though whites are burnt).
I'm on a PVA screen calibrated for neutrality so it's really apparent. But I understand it's hard to find the right setting when source materials are already far from perfect.
The reddish tint is probably from when I adjust the hue, though I usually only adjust it -1 to -2 points and in an extreme case -5. I guess it's just a matter of preference. I'm surprised you think it is a strong reddish tint, I try to avoid going overboard and -1 to -5 is, in my opinion a modest change. The reason I do it is because I think most skin tones look too yellowish, almost like the characters have jaundice, and from my experience with scanning yellows seems to be picked up more strongly than reds giving skin tones a more jaundice effect. I prefer subjects to look more "rosy", looks sexier to me.
In any case Infranview, and perhaps some other images programs out there have option to adjust color balance, so if you think the red is too strong you can tone it down to your preferences.
I'll keep your comments in mind though the next time I work on color images and try to be more modest in my adjustments.
This is really great. And I agree with you on the translation; unfortunately, CGrascal's translations tend to have somewhat awkward-sounding lines...
ReplyDeleteIn any case, you did an excellent job. Thanks for the effort you put in to make this look as good as possible.
Thanks a lot for this one, amazing job once more Bellandy!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the goood work!
Thank you very much! ^-^

So sad it is wasted in the end by the over-saturation/contrast.

So, a new, higher-resolution scan of CL-orz 18 just showed up.

Excellent, thanks for the info, I'll add it to my to-do-pile.
