  3. Thank you Belldandy! :)

I wonder, you don't have a Patreon, do you?
Just that, if you have, I'd be sharing the link on the occasion. When I see Hennojin nearing 500 uSD/month now after a few months, I think there'd be something for you too perhaps.

    1. I have mix feeling about the idea mainly because I think most people would be opposed to it.

First thing I should mention is you'll notice that there are no ads, preview images do not lead to ads nor do download links, I don't use file hosting services that pay money, there are no paypal logos, and no direct mention of money on this blog. This is intentional. If people want to commission me for something there is a method to do so but I don't mention payment on the blog to avoid attention. I've done this largely because I've have been permanently banned from paypal. They did not give an explanation as to why nor was I allowed to contest it, so I have to assume it was because of the blog and the haters reporting me.

I did have a patreon for about a year when I was exploring options about crowd funding for "Nudist Beach", and I was considering decensoring stuff full time and seeing if I could make a living off of it, but literally no one funded it and not to mention the numerous hate emails I got for even attempting it. If even a few haters got wind of it and started reporting me it would be shut down anyway. People gave me a very clear message. "Get a real job." So that's what I did. So I was not able to increase the amount of content I can produce so I do this on the side as a hobby and doing commissions for people if they want me to hire me for skills as a freelance photoshop artist.

A second issue is Patreon is meant to use for artists making original content. Decensoring, while takes a lot of time, effort and money to buy re-scan many of the doujinshi I decensor, I don't think it qualifies as original content which probably violates the terms of use for Patreon. Not that I've read it in detail but I'd be surprised if it wasn't there.

Another issue arises if I wanted to decensor someone else's scan or use someone else's translation. I basically couldn't. Then there is the issue of all the stuff that I've already have done using someone else's scan or translation which is a lot of stuff. People would see it as pirating money off of someone else's work and I would get a lot of hate from the community. I think that argument is silly since I often buy my doujinshi while most just download, but there are people out there that put a bull's eye on me since I don't do their requests for free or that I take money for commissions and that I basically have a monopoly on high quality decensors.

    2. Patreon also has a set up where you are suppose to have different rewards for different tiers of contribution. That set up does not really work for what I do. It would basically be an easy way for people to casually give a few bucks if they wanted to with no strings attached. While I have been fairly consistent with having something new to post every Friday for a while I can't guarantee that to people and I don't want to have a member's only thing where I have content behind a pay wall either.

People would basically be paying me to decensor stuff that I want to decensor which is a little weird. I guess you could argue that it's to cover the cost of buying and importing the doujinshi but again it's doujinshi that I want. Why would other people want to pay me for that? If people want me to buy and scan something for them they can just commission me to do so.

I have considered trying patreon again if I ever decided to focus more on the original art that I do. I have over a hundred line art/sketches I've done over the years but I've never really hunkered down and refined my coloring skills to a level that I'm happy with so I've never posted them. Maybe one day.

Lastly, more as a sidenote, I don't have a very thick skin and I hate drama. Negative, hate filled comments really get to me. It doesn't matter if there are dozens of positive comments my brain will completely fixate on the negative ones even though I don't want to. I won't be able to focus on work, have trouble sleeping and ultimately dread reading the comment sections of my own posts in fear of one negative comment. Making a patreon for what I currently do I think would be way too demoralizing to me. I was very close to quitting or at least stop posting online because of the negative comments of the past. Unless I had a lot people begging to give money to me I would rather not do it.

Ultimately, I just want to enjoy my doujinshi without censoring in peace.

  4. That's a shame. I just want to say that you're an inspiration to me. I have been teaching myself how to decensor doujinshi after seeing your work. I even bought a copy of Kyonew to practice on.

There will always be haters, but you have many fans too. Keep up the good work.

    1. If you have any questions about decensoring feel free to email me or view the video guides I made. I know the videos are not that great but they get the point across so hopefully they are helpful to those wanting to decensor themselves.
