Hey there! I checked the comments a few posts back and it says that you don't take commissions right now, but do you know when they might be open again? I've got a doujin that I'd like to see decensored and I'm willing to pay to finally see it done (got a colorizer lined up for it, too!) but it is really, really hard to find a decensorer who knows their stuff and isn't just using something like DeepCreamPy.
I don't mind waiting a while for this, but if you're not going to be taking them at all for a while, then that's fine :)
Technically, I am not accepting commissions for the foreseeable future, opting to decensor doujinshi from artists I like. I am making some exceptions if commissions are from such artist that I want to decensor myself anyway. But for the most part, I am not taking commissions.
That's a shame. I was happy to spend £80-to-£100~ on it to get the best quality possible, but if you're happy doing personal work, then that's fine. Best to be working on something you find fun :D
Personally, I use photoshop for the software and I highly recommend a drawing tablet with a pen that supports pressure sensitivity. It helps to blend things since you can more easily adjust the pressure with such a pen.
I know some like to use GIMP since it's free. I've never used it but I'd guess for most applications it's fine.
Decensoring is mostly about practice, developing one's own art skills, discerning eye, and creative use of editing tools to achieve the desired look.
If it's of any comfort, I practiced off and on for 5 years before I got to a level where I felt comfortable showing others. Looking back, those first things I posted were not very good. It took another 5 years to get to a point that I'm happy with.
Practice really is key.
It's hard at first because a lot of time will be spent and it likely won't look the way one wants it so initially it's high work and no reward.
I have found most underestimate the skill level and difficulty of decensoring until they try doing it themselves. I believe most anyone could do it if they simply have the motivation to practice and develop the skills for it.
Even to this day, for more difficult decensorings, I have to edit things often multiple times before I get it to a point that I'm happy with, looks natural and hard/impossible to tell that it was ever censored, but that's my goal with each image. That and to make it look as good as possible. Some more heavily decensored doujins can take me months to complete. It can require a lot of time depending how heavily censored it is.

DeleteHello, I would like to know what software are you using? I have two dojis that I would like to censor, but my methods have not been successful.
ReplyDeleteI presume you mean decensor.
