If you would like to support the original artist, here is his pivix page.

If anyone is interested in commissioning other works from Rustle to be decensored I'd do them for 50% the normal price.

    1. I'm pretty sure you don't need a credit card, just a bank account. Once a bank account has been tied to your paypal account you can transfer money that way.

  2. Your decensoring work is unique, certainly, but there is something strange in this picture, even in the original one. Where is the girl's asshole?

  3. By the way, would you decensor the other volumes? That would be great, and I would certainly pay my share.

    1. You're welcome to make a commission. I would do volume 7 for $60, as an example. If you wanted a different volume let me know and I can take a look at it and give you a quote.

    2. $60 for a 30 page book is too much to me. I give up.

  4. While I must comment on your usual decensoring ability, this one is a little too Loli oriented and dark for me.

  5. This is insane. The amount of work that went into this must have been unfathomable

  6. It was less than the work I've put into Number 2 doujins since I didn't have to scan it, translate, typeset it, etc. And in terms of insane amounts of work, the work I've put into Hizashi completely outdoes everything by a long shot. I was decensoring that game for almost a year, much of it full time. It's not done yet either. Coconut and I are still working on it after 14 months of work on it. And it will probably be multiple months more before it is finished.

    1. Holy shit. You should ask for money when it's done. Something like what you're doing with this doujin, perhaps? Give it some months before public release?

I'm not sure that even works well though, since you need people to visit here and be aware of it in the first place.

    2. I have thought about it. I'll have to discuss it with Coconut when the time comes but I have a feeling he'd prefer to do post it for free so it gets posted to as many places as possible so all the fans of it have the best chance of finding it.

I'd also be torn about it. I certainly would like to charge for it since it most certainly is of sufficient quality and quantity of work to warrant charging for it. But at the same time I want as many people as possible to have access to it and enjoy it. Because this is a fan made patch effectively, we can't sell it as a product at a web store and much of the community is divided between many different sites. The only way to get it to reach as many people as possible is to post it for free so it gets re-posted elsewhere.

There is unfortunately no singular place that supports this kind of thing and much of the world would scoff at it or not help us since it's:
      1. an adult product
      2. subject material would be considered to be involving minors in sexual content
      3. This is an unauthorized modification of someone else's work.

And as you mentioned most people don't visit this blog, they just expect it to get posted on their favorite site of choice, so if I charged for it only people who visit or through word of mouth would people even know about it.

I know already that probably only about 1-5% of people would give anything at all if we posted it for free, despite the enormous undertaking it is. Sadly, many people have been spoiled by a digital culture that has created a sense of self-entitlement, a sense that everything should be free, and paying for a digital product is laughable/a waste of money. People who make digital art work who complain about piracy are told to get a real job, a reflection of how little their work is valued, but at the same time people really do appreciate it and enjoy the product...as long as they don't have to pay for it... If they have to pay for it they feel cheated oddly enough. It's a result of the culture. They just choose to value money more than doing the right thing. People don't understand the time and skill involved and since it's easy to get people don't place a high value on it. By association they don't place a high value on the artist's either.

Quite honestly, given the difficulty of the task I understand why every other Hizashi decensor project has failed or stopped because after divulging into the nitty-gritty of it, people realized the enormity of the task and skill level required and realized this was beyond them. I believe that I am the only person on the planet who could have done this decensoring with this kind of quality, willingly to do it all with very little possibility of getting anything other than a thank you in return.

What I'm getting at is I knew this was going to be a labor of love from the beginning. And if it was not for Coconut handling the more technical aspects of extracting the image data and putting it together again I never would have even attempted this.

I believe once it's done it'll be a patch so you'll have to own or buy the original product. As far as I have seen, it's only on the Japanese DLsite. It use to be on the English DLsite but it was taken down after being there for a couple of years. So at the very least it should help out the original artist as people buy the original product so that they can enjoy the patch. I'll create a tutorial for people unfamiliar with DLsite Japan so that they can create an account and buy the original product when the time comes. But that is still a ways off.

That's probably quite right. You're one of a kind, Belldandy. And I'll be sure to give at least $10 once it's done. It's not even that much, but after reading all this it's the least I can do.

    5. I'd gladly donate something for a Hizashi decensor, under the condition that it comes with a translation that wasn't done by a complete moron (like the LAH one), and that it's DRM free.

Think about it, once the patch is out, one way or the other the fans will eventually find a way to crack it. You on the other hand will receive no thanks for your hard work, instead they'll mock you for trying to force DRM down their throats.
Explaining how much blood and sweat you've put into the patch, with pleads for donations and a link to DLSite should probably convince some people.

As for DLSite, I have tried buying a game from the English site once. Soon I discovered that it's chock-full of nasty encryption and requires dubious software to run it. Never mind that even with all the right software, I can't get it to run in the first place, so basically I wasted my money on a game I can't play.
Great job at building customer trust there, DLSite. No way they'll get any more money from me.

    6. Hizashi is being translated by Coconut, someone who knows what he's doing and DRM was never a consideration. The original product from DLsite does not have DRM either. It's unlikely that this project would have even been possible if it did.

In terms of DRM and DLsite, as far as I know their DRM has not been cracked but I've never looked into it. Most products they have do not have DRM and the ones that do, clearly say it. The idea looking for products on torrent sites does not even cross my mind most of the time.

I like supporting artists that I like so I buy their products when it's digital and accessible. Doujinshis I admittedly treat differently since most do not have a digital option and when they do they have much heavier censoring much of the time. Physical copies scans I download since to buy one outside of Japan is expensive, a pain, many are out-of-print, there is no Comiket or Doujinshi store/used book store where I can sample or take a look at the product and most of the costs does not even go to the artist it, goes to shipping and courier fees. (A $5 doujin will cost $30-$50 after shipping, taxes, and courier fees.)

I've had a few issues getting things to run with DRM from DLsite before, but their customer support has always resolved the issue and I've been able to play everything I've ever bought from them. Probably the biggest annoyance is sometimes I like to get a screenshot or something but that's disabled. Sometimes I prefer a certain player but I have to use theirs, it's annoying but not game breaking. A simple email to customer service or a check through their FAQs can fix it quickly. It's usually a program conflict with virus software, or in my case, they had a different download for movie player that I didn't know about.

Considering the internet's general spoiled culture, sense of entitlement, and believe that they should not have to pay for anything, I do not blame any creator that simply wants to enforce common etiquette and forces people to pay for a product that the are using. Theft is a crime but people do it daily because they know they won't get punished for it.

You can image how upset you'd be if you went in to work one day just to find out someone stole part or all of your paycheck even though you did the work already and should be paid for the work you did.

I'm not saying I like DRM, just that I understand why creator's use it. My uploads for example, get 10,000+ downloads on just exhentai. When I post it for free and say donate what you can, no one has ever done so. The only time people pay for what I do is when they commission me or I restrict access to people that pay me first. Considering all those people must have paid for internet and their computer they are using, probably the majority, if not all of them, could have paid at least $1 for it but they don't because they don't have to. If everyone did pay $1 with the download numbers I get I would actually be wealthy and you could imagine other people would start to decensor as well if there was money to be made and we could have more decensored doujinshi to enjoy. But ya that will never happen.
